Location: London / Sheffield (Hybrid – 10 days per month onsite)
Contract: 6 months
Day Rate: £510 Inside IR35
The Role
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team. You need to have good hands‑on experience in maintaining CI/CD pipelines using standard tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute automated tests to ensure application quality and performance.
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor and optimise resource utilisation for both containers and virtual machines in OpenShift.
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot virtual machines and workloads in OpenShift Virtualisation (OCPV).
Automate VM lifecycle operations including provisioning, scaling, migration, backup, and recovery within OCPV.
Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to integrate testing, deployment, and virtualisation processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in CI/CD, testing, container, and virtualisation environments.
Ensure security, compliance, and best practices for both container and VM workloads.
Document processes, configurations, and best practices.
Essential/Desirable Skills
Hands‑on experience with Jenkins and GitLab CI for continuous integration and delivery.
Proficiency in automated testing tools: Selenium (UI testing), JMeter (performance testing), and Postman (API testing).
Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift CLI for container orchestration and management.
Practical knowledge of OpenShift Virtualisation (OCPV) for VM deployment, migration, and management.
Familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and troubleshooting.
Understanding of hybrid cloud concepts and integrating VMs with containerised workloads.
Good problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
