The Role
We are partnering with a leading bank to find a Database Engineers / Developers to support data engineering and transformation initiatives across identity, privileged access and platform account data.
The role will focus on designing and developing robust ETL processes, integrating data from multiple sources, applying data quality and governance controls, and transforming Python-based data processing logic into scalable, production-ready solutions.
You will work across database, data engineering and reporting environments, collaborating with technical and security stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, governed and suitable for operational and analytical use.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL processes to extract, transform and integrate data from multiple sources.
- Work with relational databases including Postgre SQL, Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Develop data extraction, transformation and integration solutions across databases and flat-file sources including CSV, Excel and text files.
- Translate Python-based data processing and transformation logic into scalable, production-ready ETL solutions.
- Perform data cleansing, validation and reconciliation across complex datasets.
- Implement data quality and governance checks across identity, privileged access and platform account data.
- Support data warehousing, dimensional modelling and reporting solutions.
- Investigate data issues, identify discrepancies and work with stakeholders to resolve data quality problems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation covering data flows, transformations, processes and controls.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, data and business teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
- Support reporting and dashboard development using Power BI and/or Tableau where required.
- Contribute to source control, release management and deployment processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience working with Postgre SQL, Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Strong experience designing and developing ETL processes.
- Proven experience extracting, transforming and integrating data from multiple sources, including databases and flat files.
- Experience working with data warehousing, dimensional modelling and reporting solutions.
- Strong Python experience, particularly for data processing, transformation and automation.
- Experience translating Python-based processing logic into scalable and production-ready ETL solutions.
- Strong understanding of data quality, validation, reconciliation and governance.
- Experience working with large or complex datasets where accuracy, completeness and consistency are critical.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience developing Power BI and/or Tableau dashboards and reports.
- Familiarity with Cyber Ark and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
- Experience working with identity, access management or cybersecurity-related datasets.
- Knowledge of Git and source control practices.
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops and release management processes.
- Understanding of the Snowflake data platform.
- Experience working within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
