Role: Cyber Resilience Recovery Lead (Contract – 9 Months, Outside IR35)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and assertive Cyber Resilience Recovery Lead to join our team on a temporary basis. This critical role will focus on the rapid development and implementation of a comprehensive Recovery Runbook in response to a widespread ransomware scenario.
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape and deliver a key component of our cyber resilience strategy across a multinational, multichannel enterprise. The successful candidate will work with executive backing and a strong network of SMEs to cut through complexity and deliver tangible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a ransomware recovery runbook within the first 3 months of engagement.
- Coordinate and align with cross-functional teams, including IT, InfoSec, Legal, Risk, and Business Continuity, to ensure the runbook is comprehensive and executable.
- Drive execution readiness, ensuring the organization is capable of enacting the recovery plan effectively.
- Identify and address gaps in current recovery capabilities, leveraging existing building blocks and enhancing where necessary.
- Facilitate workshops and simulations to validate the runbook and improve organizational preparedness.
- Report progress to senior leadership, including executive stakeholders up to President level.
- Navigate organizational complexity and politics with confidence and clarity to maintain momentum and focus.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in cyber resilience, disaster recovery, or incident response, ideally in large, complex organizations.
- Strong understanding of ransomware threats, recovery strategies, and business continuity planning.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver under pressure and within tight timelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to cut through ambiguity and complexity to drive clear outcomes.
- Experience working in multinational or multichannel environments is highly desirable.
