I’m working with a fast-growing applied AI company that builds and deploys AI solutions directly into the workflows of organisations across regulated and high-impact industries. They’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join as an early delivery hire, working closely with the founders before taking ownership of their own client engagements. You’ll be involved across the full lifecycle: understanding the client’s business, identifying where AI can create value, building the solution and ensuring it is successfully adopted.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working directly with clients to uncover operational challenges
  • Identifying where AI can genuinely improve workflows
  • Building full-stack applications, integrations, agents and AI tools
  • Presenting solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Training users and driving adoption
  • Supporting discovery, sales and ongoing client delivery
  • Working across different stacks depending on the client environment

What they’re looking for:

  • 1+ years’ experience in a professional engineering environment
  • Strong full-stack software engineering fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with applied AI, LLMs or modern AI tooling
  • Confidence presenting and working directly with clients
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and solving undefined problems
  • Independent, creative and commercially curious
  • Able to travel to Cambridge and client sites when required

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more ownership, direct client engagement and a chance to join a small, ambitious business, work directly with the founders and have the opportunity to grow into a delivery leadership role as the team scales.
