AI Architecture Lead

The Role

We are working with a leading organisation on a major Balance Sheet Modelling transformation programme and are looking for an experienced AI Architecture Lead to define and govern the target AI architecture and delivery roadmap.

This is a senior architecture position, providing technical leadership across AI, data, governance and operating model design. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to establish the architecture, standards and transition states required to embed AI effectively across the Balance Sheet Modelling function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the target AI architecture and roadmap for Balance Sheet Modelling.
  • Lead AI solution architecture across a complex enterprise environment.
  • Develop architecture principles, design standards and governance frameworks.
  • Assess AI ecosystem capabilities, including LLM, ML and AI coding technologies.
  • Define AI operating model and organisational design options.
  • Evaluate build, buy and hybrid approaches and provide recommendations.
  • Provide architecture guidance across Balance Sheet Modelling, AI and data initiatives.
  • Consider security, governance, regulatory requirements and AI risk management.
  • Support the design and implementation of agentic AI solutions.
  • Assess vendors, platforms and technologies to support the programme's future-state architecture.
  • Define transition states and practical delivery roadmaps from current to target architecture.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in Enterprise AI Architecture or AI Solution Architecture.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI ecosystems, including LLMs, ML and AI-powered development.
  • Experience designing enterprise data architectures and complex integrations.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, security, risk and responsible AI principles.
  • Experience developing AI operating models and organisational design approaches.
  • Strong understanding of agentic AI and emerging AI architectures.
  • Experience evaluating AI technologies, platforms and vendors.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong experience working across large-scale transformation programmes.
