Hi there We’re Stotles.

Our mission is to unlock the potential of business and government working better, together. We’d love for you to join us on our journey.

About Stotles

The partnership between business and government is vital in making our communities productive & cohesive, but inefficiency and bureaucracy is currently the norm. We are using a modern approach to change this.

Our SaaS platform gives businesses a clear view of opportunities to work with the public sector, and the tools needed to manage them. We are bringing together a massive amount of messy government data to bring clarity and transparency to a space that desperately needs it.

We’ve seen fantastic traction from industry leading customers such as Salesforce, Civica, Vodafone, and many others. We’re also backed by some of the best investors out there (Headline, Acton, Speedinvest, Seedcamp, Form Ventures, FJ Labs, and more!)

Working at Stotles

About this Role & Why We’re Hiring

We’re hiring a highly motivated and organised individual to ramp up people operations at Stotles. You will report to the acting People and Talent Manager and work closely with our Founders and Leadership team. This is a role for someone who is excited by working at a startup behind-the-scenes and is motivated by being a key part of building + scaling a people function.

You will also get exposure to other aspects of the business such as talent acquisition, general operations, product management, growth, customer success, and special projects.

Comp Range: £50-60k salary with additional stock-options depending on experience

What You’ll Do

As People Operations Manager at Stotles, you will be the first port of call for all things HR and People. Your skills, input and experience will be required throughout important People discussions across the team.

You’ll be working across the full spectrum of work on “people operations”, executing on major workflows to ensure that the business continues to run smoothly.

For example:

  • Employee Development and Retention

    • Run our performance management cycles

  • Training and Development

    • Identify and coordinate high-impact training to supercharge the team

  • Culture building

    • Managing team building and other initiatives to support our values and our culture (eg. everything from team building exercises to socials)

  • Payroll

    • Working with our accounting team and managing the HRIS to ensure pay-day is seamless for the team

  • Compensation & benefits management

    • Benchmarking and evolving our compensation and benefits to ensure a merit-based and fair reward structure is supporting our team (we use a variety of tools and data sources to do this!)

  • Employee relations and ethics

    • Our eNPS is world class, but to maintain that we expect you to continuously and systematically gather feedback on how the team is feeling to drive constant evolution and improvement

    • Case management: Things happen and with support from the wider People function, you will be the point-person to manage them fairly, objectively, and empathetically.

  • HRIS management

    • Owning our “source of truth” of people data (we use Humaans)

Who We’re Looking For (Hint: Read this before applying!)

  • Experience

    • You have 2+ years working experience at a start up or other company in a relevant role.

      • Eg. HR Manager, People Ops Associate, HR Business / People Partner

    • (Bonus) You have had some exposure to a fast-paced, often ambiguous, start-up environment.

    • (Bonus) You have had some exposure to operations outside of HR only.

  • Mentality

    • You have a track record of showing initiative, and finding ways to get things done when ambiguity is high.

    • You’re a person who gets things done and does not quit when faced with adversity. You’re not looking for just a “clock-in/clock-out” type role. You enjoy completing objectives. Our style of work is outcome-focused: we do not measure time-at-desk. We set clear and realistic objectives, complete them on time, and then enjoy our lives outside of work!

    • You’re not afraid to say, “I don’t know the answer. But I have a few ideas on how we can find out”

    • You are coach-able and low ego. You put learning before pride and are always open to constructive feedback.

    • Integrity is a non-negotiable.

  • EQ

    • You have excellent interpersonal and communications skills. You have the ability to carry meaningful conversations with people you just met.

    • You understand the importance of trust-based relationships – with customers, prospects, partners, colleagues, all of them.

  • Methods

    • You are organised and don’t let things fall through the cracks.

    • You’re data-driven and outcomes-focused. You can track, interpret, evaluate outcomes to show impact.

  • Skills

    • Highly proficient English (written and spoken)

    • Excellent organisational ability

    • MS Office or Google suite (Good working knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
