Hi there, We’re Stotles. Stotles is the single platform to grow your public sector business. One tool where you can: create strategy, build pipeline, track tenders and win bids. We help public sector teams move from disconnected workflows, mountains of data, unqualified opportunities and painful collaboration to a single, end-to-end process so you can focus on what really matters. Winning more contracts.

We collect a huge range of public procurement data, which sits at the heart of our product, and we provide AI‑enhanced decision‑making at every stage of the public sector sales cycle to help you identify the best opportunities, summarise complex information, and automate tedious tasks - so you can focus on strategy and winning bids.

About this Role & Why We’re Hiring

Our data is the foundation of everything we build at Stotles. It powers our platform, fuels our AI tools, and helps suppliers win more work in the public sector. As we scale, we need to ensure that data remains complete, reliable, and ready to support our growth. As part of the Data & Platform team, you’ll help shape how we collect, clean, and enrich our datasets - driving smarter automation, stronger operational processes, and deeper insights that make our product more powerful and scalable.

This role blends technical skill with operational ownership and product thinking. You’ll use SQL and Python to design and manage efficient data workflows, monitor quality and coverage, and collaborate with engineers to reduce manual effort and improve consistency. You’ll also partner with product and commercial teams to test and refine AI tools, evaluate new data sources, and shape how data drives value across the product. Your attention to detail and commitment to rigorous quality control will help us maintain the high standards our users expect, while your operational mindset ensures we continuously improve how we work.

We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, curious, and product‑minded; someone who enjoys getting close to how things work and how they can work better. You’ll roll up your sleeves, test ideas quickly, and turn plans into real‑world solutions that matter. Working alongside our Senior Product Manager, Engineers, and CPO, you’ll play a key role in helping Stotles scale its data operations and product capabilities across new geographies and industries, ensuring our platform remains the trusted source for public sector insight.

What You’ll Do

  • Autonomously create, manage and improve efficiency of key processes to clean & enrich Stotles data by pushing towards automation and decreasing workload for engineers & dependence on manual processes (from external vendors).
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and commercial teams to build and improve our AI tools. You’ll help test performance, track results, and use insights to make our systems smarter through better prompts and design.
  • Proactively explore and evaluate new data sources with a sharp focus on their potential product and market value. You’ll assess how these datasets can strengthen our AI tools, improve user outcomes, and unlock new growth opportunities - balancing data quality, collection methods, and commercial impact.
  • Monitor & report on Stotles data quality and coverage, by building a structured approach including qualitative/quantitative dimensions.
  • Lead deep‑dive investigations and analyses of existing & potentially new datasets to evaluate their value, issues, & potential improvements.
  • Partner with teams across the business to ensure our data and AI capabilities support Stotles expansion in new geographies & verticals.

Who We’re Looking For

Skills & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical field (e.g., STEM, economics, finance, etc.) is helpful, but not required.
  • 2 years working in a fast‑paced professional work environment where analytical thinking & rigorous organisation were required - e.g. high‑growing start‑up, consulting, investment banking, but the list can be longer.
  • Proven experience analysing, improving, or working with data in a real production environment - where your work directly informed business decisions and made a tangible impact on your organisation - is strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical foundation to collect, transform, analyse, & visualise data.
  • Native understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Strong experience visualising data with tools such as Metabase, Tableau, Looker, etc.
  • Solid foundations in Python.
  • Working knowledge MS Office / equivalent business tools.
  • Highly proficient English (written and spoken).

Nice to have

  • Experience building something new individually or in team.
  • Experience working with ETL pipelines.
  • Familiarity with probabilistic and machine learning models.

Mentality

  • Likes to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. “Our job isn’t done until the job is done.”
  • Thrives in fast‑changing, ambiguous environments and adapts quickly to new directions.
  • Ready to tackle the last mile when needed, and motivated by taking on challenges that stretch your personal capability.
  • Open to feedback and happy to collaborate.
  • Unafraid to say, "I don’t know the answer. But I have a few ideas on how we can find out".

Methods

  • Analytical: you are able to search for patterns based on qualitative/quantitative insights and identify the causes for the pattern.
  • Freakishly organised: you have a high attention to detail and don’t let things fall through the cracks.
  • Data‑driven and outcome‑focused: you can track, interpret and evaluate outcomes to show impact.
  • Pragmatic: capable of focusing on the highest priorities and apply the 80/20 rule to achieve them (i.e. what 20% of the work will drive 80% of the impact?).

Most importantly

We’re looking for curious, ambitious people who love to learn and want to be a part of building something special. If (for any reason) you don’t fit our requirements but you’re passionate about our vision, don’t hesitate to apply!

Next steps

  • Assessment | 1 hour: The assessment is all about getting to the heart of your future role at Stotles. While the format might vary a bit, what we’re really looking for stays the same: it’s less about finding the "right" answer and more about seeing how you arrive at your conclusions.
