At Storyy Group, we work with the young people mainstream education often struggles to hold onto. That includes children in care, students in hospital, learners with anxiety or trauma, and young people with long gaps in education or a history of exclusion. We’re not here to push grades at all costs. We’re here to help rebuild confidence, trust, and a belief in learning, often one relationship at a time. If you became a teacher to change lives, not just deliver outcomes, you’ll understand what we’re building.

The Role

We’re looking for qualified secondary teachers who want to step away from the pressures and rigidity of traditional classrooms and focus on the work that really matters. You’ll deliver high-impact, trauma-informed tuition to students who need patience, flexibility, and a consistent adult they can rely on. This might include:

  • Face-to-face tuition in Berkshire or Wiltshire
  • Gentle online re-engagement for students not yet ready for a classroom
  • Short, confidence-building sessions that grow over time

It’s about helping them feel safe enough to move forward.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Teaching core subjects: Deliver engaging one-to-one or small-group sessions in English, Maths, or Science (KS3, KS4, GCSE)
  • Rebuilding relationships with learning: Support students with EBSA, SEMH needs, anxiety, or disrupted education
  • Adapting to the learner: Go at the student’s pace. Progress looks different for every young person and that’s okay
  • Keeping the bigger picture in mind: Provide clear, meaningful feedback on attendance and engagement to support schools and local authorities

Who This Role Is For

You could be a great fit if you are:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in a core secondary subject.
  • Trauma-aware and understand that learning starts with trust.
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent, comfortable working with students who may be withdrawn, anxious or cautious.
  • Flexible and open, whether that means travelling locally for in-person sessions or delivering online tuition from home.

You don’t need to have done it all before. You do need to care deeply about the young person in front of you.

Why Teach With Storyy Group

  • Purpose over profit. We keep margins lean so tuition stays accessible to the schools and families who need it most.
  • You’re paid fairly, transparently, and on time.
  • Autonomy and trust. We handle safeguarding, scheduling and admin so you can focus on what you do best: teaching and building meaningful relationships.
  • Flexible work that’s real. Freelance roles that fit around your life with the option of term-time contracts as we grow.
  • Support that’s human. You’ll be part of a team that knows this work can be emotionally demanding and deeply rewarding.

If This Resonates

If you want to teach in a way that feels human again. If you want to help change a young person’s direction. If you believe education should flex to meet the learner.
