We are seeking a talented Junior 3D Artist to join our dynamic mobile games development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in 3D modeling and animation, with proven proficiency in Maya and Unity. This role involves creating high-quality assets and animations, optimised for the mobile framework, that enhance the gaming experience and contribute to the overall artistic vision of our projects. You will also work within an AGILE production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D Modeling: Create high quality 3D models for characters, environments, and props using Maya, adhering to strict Brand and Company guidelines.
- Texturing: Apply textures and materials to models as per project requirements.
- Animation: Develop animations both in Maya and Unity for characters and objects, ensuring smooth and engaging motion.
- Unity: Capable of implementing your own work inside Unity and manage it within the game engine according to the best practices of the sector.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, programmers, and other artists to integrate assets into Unity.
- Asset Optimization: Ensure all assets are optimized for mobile platforms without compromising quality.
- Feedback Incorporation: Be able to incorporate feedback from senior team members and adjust work accordingly.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of processes and workflows for team reference.
- Self-Management: Capable of seeking their next task, able to deliver within agreed deadlines and budget.
- Self-Driven: Capable of working on their own development, keeping up to date with trends and technology. Willing to learn new techniques.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Maya for 3D modeling, texturing, rigging and animation.
- Experience with Unity as a game engine, including asset integration. Basic scripting and shader knowledge as a plus.
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite and Substance Painter.
- Strong understanding of 3D art principles, including modeling, efficient topology & poly count, texturing, rigging, and animation.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of game design principles and mobile game development.
- Knowledge of the AGILE methodology of work.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Fine Arts, Game Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field is preferred but is not mandatory.
- A portfolio showcasing relevant work (models, textures, animations) is required.
- Experience with additional software (e.g., ZBrush, Premiere) is advantageous.
- Experience working in an Agile environment, preferably in Mobile Games.
- Experience using Jira, Slack, Float, Teams and Office for work management and communication is a nice to have.
