Vice President, Benchmark Advocacy & Key Influencer Programme

This role owns the strategy and execution of two critical and interconnected pillars of Dow Jones PRA’s global market expansion agenda — benchmark advocacy and institutional influence. The VP drives the adoption of Dow Jones PRA benchmarks across new and existing markets while simultaneously building the institutional relationships and influence programme that creates the conditions for that adoption to happen.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the adoption of Dow Jones PRA benchmarks across new geographies, commodity sectors and market participant segments; identify whitespace opportunities and develop strategies to achieve reference-standard positioning.
  • Develop and manage a structured programme to build relationships with influential entities shaping markets, including regulatory bodies, government ministries, tax authorities, energy agencies and intergovernmental organizations.
  • Lead new market entry into emerging geographies and commodity sectors by assessing commercial, regulatory and institutional landscapes, identifying key bodies and cultivating relationships, and establishing sustainable presence.
  • Work with Editorial, Research and Product teams to identify gaps and opportunities for new or expanded content that supports market entry and benchmark growth; serve as a key voice in shaping the product roadmap.
  • Serve as connective tissue between institutional engagement, benchmark advocacy, Sales, Marketing and Editorial, ensuring strategy translates into aligned execution and opens opportunities for sales teams.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop market‑specific positioning, thought leadership and engagement approaches that build awareness and credibility with institutional audiences ahead of commercial engagement.
  • Represent the PRA at the most senior levels with regulatory bodies, government stakeholders, industry bodies, exchanges and strategic institutional partners globally; build and sustain relationships that underpin long‑term benchmark adoption.
  • Provide continuous, actionable intelligence on regulatory dynamics, policy developments, institutional signals and competitive benchmark trends to inform product strategy, content priorities and market entry decisions.
  • Build and lead a lean, high‑performing hybrid team of regional and institutional experts across regions and commodity disciplines.

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experience in market development and institutional engagement within a price‑reporting agency, market data, financial information services or a related B2B data and intelligence organization, with a focus on global energy and commodities markets.
  • Proven track record of identifying and developing new geographic markets and commodity sectors through strategy, advocacy and cultivation of institutional and industry relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead and develop high‑performing global teams of market experts across regions and commodity disciplines.
  • Deep knowledge of global energy and commodities markets, including how price benchmarks are adopted, indexed and embedded into trading, financial and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience building and running structured engagement programmes with regulatory bodies, government institutions and industry agencies at a global level.
  • Experience operating as a senior connective force across editorial, product, marketing and commercial teams, influencing without direct authority.
  • A university degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience demonstrating the required expertise and judgment.
