About the

Role: We are seeking a Principal Journalist to cover price reporting, market analysis, and the LPG & Naphtha Report for OPIS.

In this role, you will act as a strong networker, leading content creation, methodology maintenance, business development, and editorial operations, while promoting OPIS benchmarks to the wider market.

Reporting to the Editorial Director for Europe in the spot pricing group, you will ensure the accurate and timely production of price assessments adhering to IOSCO principles, as well as market data, news, and reports for daily publication.

  • You Will
  • Execute price assessments and compliance: Accumulate and verify spot market price transactions, ensuring daily price assessments adhere to OPIS standards, IOSCO principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive business and product development: Identify pricing and benchmark opportunities by cultivating industry sources, liaising with product managers and IT for new product development, and presenting on market dynamics at industry events.
  • Lead content creation: Produce and shape news coverage and analytical content for daily reports, in addition to webinars and whitepapers, to meet coverage and compliance standards.
  • You Have
  • 7+years of price reporting experience, preferably in the fuel or shipping sector or an equivalent industry.
  • Strong understanding of LPG product and shipping market dynamics, price drivers, and price reporting functions in the energy industry.
  • Proven record in business development, networking, and building market contacts to shape product development.
  • Demonstrated project management and content production expertise.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and data manipulation.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Python is desirable.
  • Additional languages are beneficial.
