As a News24 UK Presenter, based in the United Kingdom, you will be the lead voice and face hosting a daily opinion show tackling major global issues, international politics, and current affairs across News24's broadcast and digital platforms. You bring a sharp editorial vision, high‑energy on‑screen authority, and the ability to command a fast‑paced broadcast environment. Candidates must have extensive on‑camera broadcasting experience, a fearless approach to opinion‑led commentary, and a sophisticated understanding of global news and modern digital publishing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Host a Daily Opinion Show: Drive and anchor a daily flagship opinion show focused on global affairs, international politics, and breaking news, establishing a strong, agenda‑setting presence.
  • Editorial Leadership: Work closely with your production team and Executive Producer to pitch bold angles, refine show rundowns, and construct compelling monologues that drive ratings and spark debate.
  • High‑Impact Interviewing: Conduct sharp, insightful, and fearless interviews with high‑profile guests.
  • Content Generation: Write and deliver sharp on‑air editorial commentary, scripts, and collaborate with the digital producing team.
  • Live Control Room Collaboration: Command the studio during live broadcasts, communicating effectively with control room producers, technical directors, and field reporters during high‑pressure or breaking news situations.
  • Digital Integration: Partner with digital teams to adapt key show segments, monologues, and digital‑first clips to maximize audience reach across News24’s online platforms.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all show content meets News24’s quality control standards, adheres to relevant legal parameters, and strictly complies with broadcasting codes.

Who are you?

  • Proven track record as a broadcast television host, anchor, or presenter with extensive experience in live broadcasting.
  • Deep, authoritative knowledge of global politics, current affairs, and major world events.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the gravitas to challenge guests from politicians to business leaders and foreign correspondents.
  • Strong writing ability, capable of crafting punchy monologues, sharp questions, and engaging script copy under strict deadline pressure.
  • Familiarity with newsroom workflows and rundown systems (such as ENPS) is ideal, alongside a strong understanding of control room dynamics.
  • Highly adaptable, resilient under live breaking news pressure, and maintaining a collaborative approach with producers and technical crews.
  • In‑office presence required, with flexibility around working hours to adapt to shifting global news cycles and show demands.
  • Thorough knowledge of News24 products, editorial tone, and brand values.
  • Strong working knowledge of media law, defamation, and broadcasting codes.
  • Must have a very good knowledge of global politics and current affairs, and a good understanding of news events occurring elsewhere in the world.
  • Take a hands‑on approach to story selection, research, and script writing with the ability to plan highly viral online segments, react in real‑time to breaking news, and conduct sharp interviews with guests.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to learn and adapt to new working practices and contribute to new programs.
  • Ability to work independently when required and to carry out assignments that are not part of the day‑to‑day routine.
