Data analysis: Source and work comfortably with a wide range of data sets and report‑based information across energy and commodities.
Visual storytelling: Record short‑form reels in video format explaining key thematic energy issues and stories.
Collaboration: Work closely with editors, writers, and price reporters to weave Dow Jones Energy price assessments and benchmarks into news reports.
Teamwork: Collaborate seamlessly with other newsroom members to produce high‑quality content.
Qualifications Experience: Demonstrable experience in journalism working in a newsroom.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio of breaking energy news and insights, including exclusive interviews with industry leaders.
Technical skills: Excellent writing and editing, data analysis, and the ability to break news through data sourcing. Strong understanding of physical energy, commodity markets, and energy trading. Multimedia storytelling capabilities and familiarity with NewsPress content‑management systems. Knowledge of data journalism and the ability to locate new data sets and trends.
Soft skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, highly organized and detail‑oriented. Ability to work with the head of news, a data‑visualisation team, and a bench of price reporters to collaborate on stories and visual content.
