An intelligence analyst working on Dragonfly's Africa desk. Full‑time, permanent, based in London. 35 hours per week, with occasional additional work and international travel. Report to the Sub‑Saharan Africa lead. Hybrid working policy applies.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct desk‑based open source research and produce political, security, and geopolitical risk assessments.
  • Develop and cultivate human sources; manage and maintain human intelligence sources, subcontractors, data feeds, and open‑source networks.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and briefings for clients and other audiences.
  • Provide responsive customer service, develop positive working relationships with clients and prospects, and advocate for the Dragonfly brand.
  • Mentor and/or manage junior analysts or researchers (as needed).

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in security analysis, political risk research, or crisis risk management.
  • Strong analytical knowledge of political and security developments in the Sub‑Saharan Africa region.
  • Experience training and mentoring junior researchers in professional research methods.
  • Experience providing responsive customer service and maintaining client relationships.
  • Honesty, curiosity, and the ability to make evidence‑based analytical judgments without fear of being proven wrong.
  • Knowledge of regional languages is a plus.
