JOB SUMMARY
Work with Storyblok’s dynamic legal team and play a vital role in our day-to-day operations in the EMEA region. The primary focus of this role is leading SaaS sales contract negotiations—drafting, redlining, and closing enterprise agreements that enable Storyblok’s EMEA sales team to move quickly and confidently. Beyond contracts, your responsibilities span advising on corporate, privacy, employment and labor law, and supporting product and cybersecurity compliance initiatives. You will lead legal projects with autonomy, guide business teams, and collaborate with external counsel as needed. While focused on the EMEA region, you will also support legal initiatives in AMER, contributing to global policies and aligning legal processes across regions. Additionally, you will provide legal training, empower team members to manage day-to-day legal tasks, and support the legal leadership in executing strategic priorities and continuous improvement efforts. This role requires extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams across the company—with a particular emphasis on the Sales team—as well as Marketing, Partners, Product, People, etc., to provide practical, business-minded legal support.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead the redlining & negotiating process and own SaaS enterprise sales contracts as the primary focus of this role—including MSA, GTC/ToS, NDA, DPA, and other legal agreements—enabling the EMEA sales team to close deals efficiently and with legal confidence
- Advise on legal principles relating to data privacy, IP, information security, and corporate risk mitigation
- Lead the review and negotiate partnership agreements with our partners in EMEA
- Lead (globally) with review and negotiation of procurement and marketing contracts as needed
- Lead HR related projects & provide legal support for certain employment and labor law topics
- Draft, review, and maintain company-wide policies in accordance with applicable legal requirements and organisational governance standards
- Responsible for monitoring and assessing developments in applicable laws and regulations, advising the business on emerging legal risks and required adaptations to agreements, policies, or operational practices
- Provide legal advice and lead from a legal side the new product initiatives & feature launches
- Initiate and lead comprehensive legal training to different teams (e.g. prepare and structure the information for training)
- Independently lead and own the end-to-end delivery of cross-functional legal projects and improvement initiatives across multiple business regions, ensuring coherent alignment with applicable regulatory frameworks, local counsel, and key business stakeholders
- Identity and lead the continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, and governance frameworks, ensuring consistency and best practice adoption across the organisation
- Support the legal team to build and maintain documentation for the whole team
- Be responsible and contribute across a range of administrative functions and project-based work, adapting to evolving priorities and business needs
- Provide accurate and concise legal research as needed
- Drive and implement regional legal strategies to support the company’s growth and operations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Law Degree and Bar Admission to at least one jurisdiction in Europe
- 4+ years of experience with a primary focus on drafting, redlining, and negotiating sales contracts. SaaS or fast-paced tech experience providing in-house support to enterprise sales teams is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience partnering directly with Enterprise Sales teams to negotiate customer-facing commercial agreements, including MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, Terms of Service, and related SaaS contracts.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracting with deep expertise in sales contracts and legal processes
- Broad and in-depth specialized knowledge of the EU legal framework plus some knowledge of the UK and/or U.S. law would be strongly preferred
