We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and passionate account director to join our busy team, for one year of maternity cover. Working in one of Scotland’s most respected and awarded creative agencies, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing international integrated campaigns and specialist packaging projects for a bold whisky brand (with additional scope across financial services, public sector and property).

The role is hybrid with an expectation to be in the office (Edinburgh city centre) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the successful implementation of campaigns.
  • With our Planning and Creative teams, develop insightful creative briefs and communications strategies that will provide the Creative department with a springboard to deliver exceptional work.
  • Become an extension of the Client team, working to build a comprehensive understanding of their sector, business objectives and communications goals, and ways of working that will ensure we remain a trusted partner.
  • Act as a senior day to day client lead, building trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels and confidently leading key client meetings, presentations and reviews.
  • Forward plan resource requirements to support the smooth running of the agency, to deliver campaigns on time and on budget.
  • Successfully coordinate internal departments and external suppliers in the delivery of projects.
  • Take financial ownership of the budgeting, forecasting and invoicing. Ensure tight management of project budgets.
  • Inspire, motivate and nurture more junior talent by leading by example and helping them to upskill in critical areas.

Required skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience working within a marketing agency.
  • Able to apply a forward-thinking approach to all aspects of work, demonstrated through positive attitude and proactive approach.
  • Experience delivering brand and product positionings, through-the line campaigns (e.g. broadcast, display and social comms) and detailed packaging projects.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, financial management and time-management skills.
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to build strong, trusting and collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Fully literate in Microsoft Office software, specifically Powerpoint, Outlook, Word and Excel.
