About Sling
We aim to create a world where sending and receiving money is effortless. Our app allows users to pay people, not numbers – no IBAN, account numbers, or sort code required. All you need is the recipient\’s name to send money.
Sling leverages blockchain technology to transfer in any currency almost instantaneously for a negligible fee. We’re in 150 countries and the app is available in the Android and iOS app stores. Sling is from Avian Labs, Inc., created by product builders and engineers from Monzo, Square, and Cash App.
About the role
We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to help shape the future of Sling Money.
You’ll be the second designer on the team, working directly with Simon Amor (co-founder and designer) across product, design, and strategy. This is a hands-on role with high impact — your design decisions will shape a product used around the world.
You’ll be simplifying complex problems in a way that communicates ideas clearly, and designing solutions that feel effortless for users, no matter how intricate the problem.
Through close collaboration with product and engineering, you’ll craft experiences that are intuitive, elegant, and deeply user-focused. You’ll bring a sharp eye for visual design and a strong sense of craft, with the ability to balance detail and speed. You\’ll create a truly global product with consideration for internationalization challenges across all surfaces.
And as one of the first designers at Sling Money, you’ll define not just the product, but the design culture as a whole.
Beyond product, you’ll also contribute to brand and marketing design, helping shape how Sling Money shows up in the world. From launch campaigns to landing pages, you’ll work on creating a visual language that’s consistent, expressive, and clear. We’re looking for someone who can bring the same level of craft and simplicity to external touchpoints as they do to the product itself.
Design at Sling Money

From layout and interaction to loading times and accessibility, every detail is considered with simplicity and usability in mind. We obsess over simplicity — turning complex problems into clear, intuitive user experiences. You should be skilled at designing flows that just make sense, even for first-time users. Your work should feel invisible: thoughtful UX that gets out of the way and lets people accomplish what they came to do.
What you’ll do
- Own and drive design direction across all product areas — from discovery to final implementation
- Simplify complexity with intuitive designs that work wherever in the world our users may live
- Spot opportunities for product improvements, design system evolution, and new features that enhance user experience, as well as smaller fast fixes
- Partner with engineers and data scientists to solve complex problems with clarity and craft
- Conduct user research to assets the validity of new and existing designs
- Champion quality, simplicity, and usability at scale
- Raise the bar for visual and interactive design across the company, considering motion, fluidity, and simplicity throughout
- Create visuals and assets for the Sling Money brand and product that can be used across the app, website, and marketing materials

- Has a portfolio that shows systematic thinking, high visual polish, and real product impact
