Location: Lamberhurst Surgery in Tunbridge Wells

Working hours: 1 session a week (preferably Friday AM or PM to suit) - 4hrs in total

Job type: 1 year fixed term contract

Salary: £90-£95 per hour

Job Summary: To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population while maintaining a high standard of clinical care and compliance with GMS contract and GMC standards. The role includes collaborative working with the multidisciplinary team and supporting the overall management and development of the practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
  • Provide services in line with the GMS contract.
  • Prescribe generically in accordance with local and national guidance.
  • Manage long‐term conditions effectively.
  • Process administrative tasks promptly, including referrals and repeat prescriptions.
  • Take part, on a rotational basis, in the duty doctor rota.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records following good practice and policy.
  • Accept an equal share of the practice workload and work collaboratively with staff.
  • Follow best practice from clinical guidelines and audit processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Take delegated responsibility for specified QOF areas.
  • Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required.
  • Support training of medical students and colleague development.
  • Assist partners in achieving strategic aims, enhancing income and controlling costs.
  • Participate in practice audits, local initiatives and structured event reviews such as RCA.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised primary medical qualification (e.g., MBBS or equivalent).
  • Certificate of Completion of GP Training (CCT).
  • GP on NHS Performer's List.
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • Professional, confident communication style.
  • Passion for providing high‐quality clinical care.
  • Effective communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and openness to change.
  • Supportive attitude towards colleagues (e.g., DBS, ongoing appraisals).
