Our mission is to transform how technology is bought, used and reused - creating better outcomes for customers, brands and the planet.
Raylo is the subscription infrastructure that enables leading electronics brands to move from one-off device sales to recurring subscription programmes that increase conversion, deepen loyalty and capture more lifetime value. We have over $90m ARR, we’re profitable, growing fast, with over a quarter of a million subscriptions across consumers and small businesses.
For customers, the experience is simple: subscribe to a device, get support throughout, upgrade when you want, and return it when you’re done. Behind that sits an AI-powered operating system that executes and manages device subscriptions end to end: credit and fraud decisioning, lifecycle operations, and the financing engine that enables brands to run subscription programmes at scale.
As a Risk Operations Lead, you’ll report to our Risk Operations leadership and spearhead our first dedicated team for US customers, covering fraud, credit risk, and insurance decisioning. In this hands-on, player-coach role, you’ll lead four Associates while handling live casework yourself. You will collaborate closely with the wider Risk team, manage the critical UK-to-US handover, and build consistent decision standards from day one.
What You’ll Do
- Run the night shift – lead a team of four Associates on a fixed, rotating pattern dedicated to the US customer base.
- Own decisions – apply established risk standards to make well-reasoned calls, determining when to resolve, hold, or raise complex cases.
- Maintain a hands-on approach – manage active casework across fraud, credit risk, and insurance.
- Drive operational performance – oversee queue health, SLAs, quality, and capacity, providing comprehensive handovers to leadership.
- Coach and develop your team – work alongside Associates on live cases, offer real-time guidance, and foster consistent decision-making across the cohort.
- Turn data into action – leverage analytical insights to identify emerging fraud or risk trends and implement effective countermeasures.
- Partner cross-functionally – collaborate with the broader Operations and Risk Strategy teams to ensure alignment across decisioning frameworks.
- Shape scalable operations – provide evidence-based recommendations on capacity, shift patterns, and processes as US volumes expand, while establishing clear career progression pathways for your Associates.
You’ll Succeed with
- 5+ years of relevant experience – in team leadership and fraud, credit risk, or insurance decisioning, ideally within a fast-paced fintech or consumer finance environment.
- Live-domain mastery – deep experience in fraud, credit risk, and insurance, backed by the confidence to make sharp, high-stakes customer calls using policy, data, and human judgement.
- Player-coach approach – you lead from the front, taking on live casework alongside your team while raising their bar, coaching in real time, and driving high standards across the shift.
- Curiosity and modern tool literacy – you naturally leverage data, AI, and smart tooling to spot emerging risk patterns, streamline manual workflows, and optimise shift performance.
- Communication – you can distill complex risk signals into tight handovers and deliver transparent, actionable feedback to team members and stakeholders alike.
- Total commitment to the US night operation – You'll work a rotating 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern, with shifts falling between 1pm and 5am, including weekends.
