StoryTerrace is looking for a hands-on product manager with experience scaling a B2C platform.

The role involves setting product direction across two live products - one established, one new to market. You will direct the developer who builds most of them and personally build a meaningful share of it yourself, shaping what growing editorial products become. If you want a seat where your own hands are still on the keyboard, but the decisions about what gets built are also yours to make, this is that kind of seat.

About StoryTerrace: StoryTerrace is on a mission to ensure that every life story is captured and passed on in a meaningful way. We're the leader in the ghostwritten life story market, having created more than 4,000 books with a network of 500 writers. At our core, we blend human storytelling with technology, using our proprietary platforms to create seamless digital experiences for clients and produce high-quality, beautifully crafted books at scale. We've recently launched a self-serve app, opening up a new way for people to tell their story.

What you'll do:

  • Own the roadmap for both products; sequencing, trade-offs, and the case for what does or doesn't get built this quarter.
  • Build a support ticket framework and the feedback loop back into the roadmap.
  • Manage our Full Stack Developer day to day; briefing, reviewing, holding the bar on quality and pace.
  • Recruit additional developers as needed.
  • Personally design, build, and ship features across the full stack (reduces as team grows).
  • Work with the Editorial Department to continuously evolve AI-assisted content-creation features - output consistency, structure, and reliability against internal quality standards.
  • Manage the Editorial Operations Associate, who runs day-to-day editorial operations and our freelance writer network.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Finance, delivering strategic and hands-on initiatives.

What we are looking for:

  • Product management experience in a B2C context - consumer mobile app, marketplace, subscription, or social/community products.
  • Solid experience building full-stack JavaScript applications, comfortable end-to-end in Node.js, Express, React, and MongoDB/ Mongoose.
  • Comfortable working inside an existing production codebase - integrations, background jobs, evolving workflows.
  • Experience in working with AI-assisted features - evaluating output quality, prompting, or integrating LLM-based tools.
  • You’ve managed another developer's day-to-day work and evaluating their output critically.
  • You thrive with genuine ambiguity and lean resourcing.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with a publishing or content product.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits:

  • Annual base salary £50,000–£55,000 depending on experience.
  • Maternity cover until December 2027 - with strong intention to become permanent subsequently.
  • Hybrid role with at least 2 office days per week (Aldgate, London).
  • 25 vacation days + 8 bank holidays.
  • Pension (4% employer + 4% employee).
  • Private healthcare.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven culture in an international scale-up environment.

Join Us: At StoryTerrace, we're as passionate about our people as we are about our product. We believe in hiring for heart and drive, and we're committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
