This is a hands‑on role for someone with 3 to 5 years in procurement, sourcing or supply chain who wants to build something from the ground up. You will work directly with the engineering and manufacturing teams, help make decisions that matter and directly see the results of your work in the products we ship. If you want to directly shape how a novel medical device ultimately reaches people, keep reading.
What You’ll Do
- Supplier Sourcing & Commercial Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for components, tooling, manufacturing processes, and assemblies.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, serving as one of the primary commercial points of contact to drive performance, resolve issues and ensure we get the best from our supplier base.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, lead times, quality requirements, payment terms, and supply agreements to secure commercial sound deals that support product quality and business growth.
- Support supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to drive quality, reliability and cost efficiency over time.
- Develop dual‑source and risk mitigation strategies for critical components to reduce supply chain exposure and ensure continuity of supply.
- Manufacturing & Product Support
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand product designs, component specifications and manufacturing requirements to develop sourcing strategies that keep production on track.
- Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring every component is accurately specified, costed and traceable as production scales.
- Execute sourcing activities for injection moulded parts, electronic components, packaging, assemblies, and manufacturing services by identifying the right suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
- Support the preparation of products for manufacturing scale‑up and new product introductions.
- Coordinate supplier input during design and manufacturing changes.
- Operational Excellence
- Track component costs, lead times, and supplier performance.
- Support inventory planning and supply continuity activities to keep production running smoothly.
- Work with engineering and suppliers to identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
- Build and refine procurement processes that can scale as SAVA grows.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing commercial relationships.
- Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing environments.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Comfortable working cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in medical devices, life sciences, electronics or other regulated manufacturing industries.
- Sourcing of injection moulded parts and tooling, managing both the part suppliers and the toolmakers behind them.
- Experience with contract manufacturers (CMOs) and manufacturing scale‑up, including supplier qualification.
- Familiarity with supplier quality management, manufacturing documentation, and reading engineering drawings.
- Exposure to specialised/regulated processes: cleanroom manufacturing, surface treatments, coatings, adhesive bonding, sterilisation, or wet chemistry.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
