About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Regulatory Licensing Officer to support the firm's regulatory licensing activities across multiple jurisdictions and contribute to the ongoing development of its regulatory and compliance framework. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting licence applications across payments, e-money, digital assets, and other regulated financial services activities. This role is suited to a hands‑on professional who can manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively across functions, and help ensure regulatory requirements are translated into practical business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Licensing & Applications
- Support the preparation, submission, and ongoing management of regulatory licence applications, registrations, notifications, variations, and extensions across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist with EMI, Payment Institution, Virtual Asset, Digital Asset, and other financial services licence applications with regulators across the UK, EEA, APAC, and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Conduct regulatory research and support feasibility assessments for new products, services, and market expansion opportunities.
- Prepare high‑quality application materials, regulatory responses, supporting documentation, and evidence packs.
- Coordinate input from Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, Product, Finance, and other stakeholders to support regulatory submissions.
- Project manage and track application milestones, regulatory commitments, approval conditions, and post-authorisation requirements.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to management and the Board of Directors on licensing activities, timelines, and regulatory risks.
- Regulatory Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support interactions with regulators, competent authorities, and external advisers, including coordinating meetings, information requests, submissions, and regulatory correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records of regulatory communications, commitments, and key actions.
- Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in licensing and regulatory projects.
- Support responses to regulatory enquiries and requests for information relating to licence applications.
- Policy Development & Regulatory Framework Support
- Help draft, review, and coordinate the establishment of compliance policies, procedures, standards, and governance documentation for the licence applications.
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical internal policies and operational guidance.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of compliance policies, procedures, standards, and governance documentation across the group.
- Regulatory Administration & Monitoring
- Maintain licensing registers, authorisation records, passporting notifications, regulatory obligations, and key regulatory deadlines.
- Monitor compliance with licence conditions, commitments, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support the preparation of management information, regulatory reports, governance committee materials, and internal updates.
- Track developments across relevant regulatory frameworks, including PSD3, MiCAR, DORA, CRD VI, AML/CTF requirements, and other applicable regulations.
About You
- Experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, legal, licensing, or financial services regulation within fintech, payments, banking, e-money, or related sectors.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FCA, EU, PSD2/PSD3, MiFID II, MiCAR, CRD/CRR, DORA, and AML/CTF requirements.
- Experience supporting regulatory licence applications or regulatory submissions.
- Strong drafting skills, including experience preparing policies, procedures, regulatory responses, or application documentation.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
