As we continue to scale internationally, we are hiring our second lawyer to work alongside the Head of Legal and Compliance.

About the Role
You will be the second lawyer in the legal function, working directly with the Head of Legal and Compliance.
You will take primary responsibility for the insurance wording and policy documentation workstream, including trade credit insurance policy wordings and endorsements, surety bonds and counterindemnities, insurance binders, across multiple jurisdictions.
Alongside this core responsibility, you will be involved in new product launches, international expansion, regulatory engagement, commercial contracting and the wider legal and compliance work required by a fast-growing regulated business.
This is a broad role.
You will work closely with the Co-Group Chief Underwriting Officer and Group Chief Commercial Officers, take ownership of significant workstreams, and have the opportunity to develop well beyond a traditional insurance legal role.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate trade credit insurance policy wordings and endorsements, surety bonds and counterindemnities, insurance binders, and related documentation.
- Own and maintain the policy wordings library and version control process across all active jurisdictions.
- Support new product launches and new market entries, working with external counsel where required.
- Review and negotiate broker terms of business agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other commercial agreements.
- Support compliance with ongoing regulatory requirements, including working with our external partners on our USA policy wording filings.
- Monitor regulatory developments and identify implications for the business.
- Build and maintain legal templates, playbooks and process documentation.
- Use AI tools as a core part of legal service delivery, helping the legal function operate efficiently and scale effectively.
- You might be a good fit if
- You have an insurance or reinsurance background, either in private practice or in-house at a carrier, reinsurer or managing general agent.
- You have experience drafting or reviewing policy wordings, endorsements, insurance binders, surety bonds or insurance-related commercial documentation
- You enjoy taking ownership of your work and exercising judgement about when to elevate.
- You are commercially minded and able to balance legal risk with practical business outcomes.
- You are intellectually curious and excited by the prospect of learning quickly across a broad range of legal and regulatory topics.
- You see AI as a practical tool for improving legal delivery and are keen to experiment with new tools and workflows.
- You communicate clearly, concisely and confidently, both in writing and in person.
