Our Marketing Team
We're a small but mighty marketing team of eight, working across the full customer journey — from acquisition and brand through to performance and retention. You’ll be working across email, content, promotions, and commercial partnerships - getting broad exposure across the Heidi Marketing team. We care far more about how you think and communicate, and your willingness to learn. Your existing knowledge of how the business works is just as valuable — and a real advantage in this role.
Secondment Details
Your day-to-day line management will transfer to the Customer Retention Lead for the duration of the secondment. The length of the secondment will be agreed prior to starting and reviewed as the role develops. Your substantive role will be held for your return. This secondment may lead to a permanent position within the Marketing team, subject to business need and performance. Please speak with your current line manager before applying to ensure they are aware of your interest.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and optimising email campaigns that actually land — from automated personalised journeys to one‑time sends, working closely with Nat on segmentation, performance and reporting.
- Supporting Matt on offsite and onsite marketing journeys and promotions — from everyday execution through to bigger campaign pushes that drive real commercial results.
- Supporting the growth of our affiliate programme and commercial partnerships — learning how those relationships work and helping make them perform better.
What we’re looking for from you
- Genuinely curious — you enjoy working out how things work and why.
- Willing to say “I don’t know” and then go and find out.
- Able to switch between different problems and teams without losing momentum.
- Proactive — you look for issues before they become problems.
- Honest, even when the answer is not what someone wanted to hear.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete information.
- Takes ownership of your work and sees things through.
- Patient and clear when working with non‑technical colleagues.
- Listens carefully and asks the right follow‑up questions.
- Interested in how the business works end‑to‑end, not just your corner of it.
Technical skills
We're not expecting a fully‑formed marketer — we'll invest in your development. That said, the following would be a bonus:
- Some exposure to email marketing or CRM tools (any platform).
- Experience creating content for social, web, or other channels.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as GA4 or similar.
- Comfortable working in spreadsheets and handling data in a professional context.
- An interest in or experience with affiliate or partnership marketing.
Who’s going to be your manager?
You’ll be reporting to our Customer Retention Lead, Nat.
What success looks like
In the first few months, we would hope to see you:
- Building strong working relationships across the marketing team and wider business.
- Getting up to speed quickly with our tools, channels, and ways of working.
- Taking ownership of tasks and delivering them to a high standard with minimal hand‑holding.
- Playing a pivotal role in our migration to Customer.io, our new customer engagement platform.
- Bringing fresh energy and ideas — and the initiative to act on them.
