Joinery Apprentice Duration: Apprenticeship Programme (2-year fixed term contract)

Qualification Gained: Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)

Important: This apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with our trusted subcontractors. You will be employed directly by one of our subcontractor partners, not by Story Homes.

About the Opportunity

Story Homes is working with a number of trusted subcontractor partners to offer apprenticeship opportunities across our developments. Your employment contract will be with one of our subcontractor partners and you will gain valuable experience working on Story Homes developments alongside experienced tradespeople and site teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with general joinery tasks on site under the guidance of experienced joiners
  • Learn to install staircases, doors, skirting boards and cupboards
  • Gain experience fitting floor joists, floorboards, roof trusses, and wall partitions
  • Develop an understanding of technical drawings and how they are applied on site
  • Learn the safe and effective use of hand and power tools associated with joinery
  • Work collaboratively with Site Project Managers, Site Agents, and subcontractors
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and site regulations
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Attend training sessions and work towards completing your apprenticeship qualification
  • Contribute positively to the business and uphold the company’s reputation
