Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to shape the safe and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects?
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our regional Engineering Team, provide expert technical guidance and influence our project teams to deliver with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the regional Engineering Team, building capability and confidence across the region.
- Provide technical leadership, engineering assurance and practical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project teams from design and development through to delivery, commissioning and handback.
- Act as a trusted subject matter expert, bringing challenge, innovation and clear decision‑making to complex schemes.
- Champion safety‑by‑design, quality and continuous improvement across our projects, partners and supply chain.
- Help ensure engineering processes, plans and standards are applied consistently and effectively.
Essential Qualifications
- A Civil Engineering qualification at degree, HNC/HND level or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional body, such as ICE or REI.
- Strong experience in UK rail contracting and multidisciplinary engineering delivery.
- Proven engineering management experience, with comprehensive understanding of relevant rail legislation and regulations.
- Confidence leading, mentoring and developing technical teams.
- Clear communication and influencing skills, with a collaborative approach.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience as a CEM and/or CRE within the Network Rail Agile Client Eastern model.
- Experience delivering projects for non-rail clients, such as water, energy or environment.
