We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Estimator to join our Construction division in Carlisle, where Story will support and assist whilst you work towards becoming an experienced and degree qualified construction estimator.

The Role
Our construction division is a leading provider of specialist building and civil engineering services delivering exceptional quality for clients predominantly in the retail, manufacturing, housing and local authority sectors. This position will provide a fantastic opportunity for personal development and growth within an expanding company.
As a Trainee Estimator you will initially be providing general support to the Estimating team whilst learning on the job. You will be involved in managing tender stage documentation, keeping the team informed of any amendments.
In addition to working and learning on the job, you will also be fully supported as you study for a degree level qualification at Northumbria University part-time over 4 years attending university 1 day per week.
You will be based at our offices in Carlisle with regular visits to sites, therefore a driving licence would be an advantage. This is an excellent role for someone with an interest in Estimating andlooking to start their career in this field.
To be successful, you will
- Have strong A Level results in Maths/Science based subjects (or good GCSE grades and construction industry experience)
- IT Competency
- Organised and methodical
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be able to build and maintain effective and genuine colleague and supplier relationships.
