We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our North West Operations team based from our Chorley office and take exciting initiatives from start to finish. What's the Role?
As a Senior Project Manager for Story, you will be responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of infrastructure projects across multiple sectors including Rail, Water and Energy. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead with Safety: Drive Projects to Success with a Commitment to Excellence, Well-being, and Risk Management. Ensure every milestone is achieved with the highest standards of safety and quality.
- Client Management: Lead and manage the Client relationship to establish and understand their needs and expectations for projects.
- Project Planning: Ensure that comprehensive project plans are in place for all projects and that programme risk is understood, managed and escalated appropriately.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Commercial: Take ownership for the commercial out-turn of the portfolio to meet business plan targets.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in project delivery in the infrastructure sector, preferably in safety critical environments.
- Experience working under the NEC suite of contracts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven leader with strong communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills across the Microsoft Office package.
- Minimum HNC in a relevant technical discipline or proven experience.
- Relevant professional qualification is desirable but not essential e.g. CEng.
- Track record in successful Client Management.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Extensive experience in commercial management of projects and reporting to Senior Management and Clients.
