About the Role
Story Plant are looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking Head of Health & Safety to lead our safety strategy and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental (HSE) performance across all plant, geotechnical and workshop operations. You’ll provide expert guidance, constructive challenge and solution focused support to our operational teams. You’ll ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards, develop and embed our Safety Management System, championing a proactive, positive safety culture and engagement throughout the business. This is a role for a visible leader who enjoys being hands on—someone who can inspire confidence, coach others, and continually drive improvements in how we work safely.
What We’re Looking For
The right person to join us is an experienced HSQE professional who has worked in a highly regulated environment—ideally rail or infrastructure and holds NEBOSH or equivalent and Chartered IOSH status. You will have excellent relationship building and influencing skills to enable the engagement of operational teams and the development of their capabilities. This role will travel between our depots and operational site and therefore must have a UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel (overnight stays are not common).
