As a Senior Construction Manager at Story Contracting, you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient implementation of projects while providing specialised input into design and development phases. We are seeking someone who is great at managing people, dynamic and accountable.

As part of this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for a large portfolio of construction and pre-construction projects. Key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide delivery methodology, resource and programme detail information at both tender and planning stages to achieve a committed solution, programme and net cost for projects.
  • Responsibility for the efficient, profitable and quality delivery of a portfolio of projects in a Project Manager's portfolio through leading and managing the site management team.
  • Responsibility for management of existing delivery resource and identifying future site management and operative resource requirements and talent, maximising their potential for the future.
  • Responsibility for the safe delivery of projects on site.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive demonstrable experience of Site Management in the Rail industry.
  • PTS certified.
  • SMSTS 5 Day Site Safety certified.
  • NVQ Level 6 Site Manager qualified.
  • Excellent understanding of industry standards and regulations with a detailed experience and understanding of either E/Works, Structures, Track, or Drainage.
  • Proven experience in managing people, performance, processes and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to positively challenge and set standards and goals for the team.
  • Strong commercial focus.
  • Solution provider with a strong track record in delivery and projects.
  • Strong safety focus.
