As a Senior Project Planner, you will be able to pro‑actively deliver project planning from tender to successful completion by working collaboratively with our established project management teams and our clients.

You will have comprehensive knowledge of planning systems including Primavera P6 and delivering project planning activities within NEC4 contract terms. You will have experience of delivering projects in the rail, highways or energy sectors and be highly literate in using IT solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of existing project programmes across a number of frameworks in development, design, delivery and completion stages.
  • Create and manage new project programmes from tender drawings, challenging project team proposed outputs and sequences, with a high degree of accuracy and in line with contract terms.
  • Add value to project delivery by proactively identifying and managing schedule risk, validating progress and identifying opportunities for programme acceleration, carrying out variance analysis and developing recovery schedules.
  • Provide internal cyclic reporting data to inform management review and facilitate workbank / workforce planning.
  • Support the development of the project planning function and provide guidance to less experienced members of the team.
  • Production of Hour by Hour programmes in line with the DWWP process for works being undertaken in disruptive possessions.
  • Assist the Planning Manager in producing reports.
  • Production of high‑quality outputs inclusive of visual dashboards to convey the current project progress.
  • Produce and maintain work scope trackers.
Qualifications
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Advanced user of Primavera P6 with a minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Planning within the construction industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of Schedule Management & Reporting.
  • Advanced in Change Control, Baseline Management, Risk Management and Cost Control.
  • Experience of working NEC4 contracts.
  • Understanding of Operational Planning i.e. Rail Possessions.
  • Experience in delivering civil engineering projects, including structures and station works.
  • Willing to guide and mentor Junior members of the team.
  • Full UK Driving license with the ability to travel to site offices.
