We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to begin their story with us based in our Beckingham Depot. We are looking for someone who embodies our values of being hardworking, grounded and proud of the work they do.

Working closely with depot teams, clients and colleagues, you will ensure the right plant, attachments and people are in place to deliver contracts safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will lead operational planning, resource allocation and team performance while building strong client relationships and driving operational excellence and commercial performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading the safe and efficient delivery of works, ensuring resources are available and utilised effectively.
  • Providing visible leadership to operational teams, promoting engagement, competence and high performance.
  • Supporting operational and commercial decision-making by assessing deliverability, resource availability and budget requirements.
  • Working closely with Resource Planning and Workshop teams to coordinate plant allocation, movements and deployment.
  • Acting as a safety leader, championing HSQE standards and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support excellent service delivery and repeat business.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Extensive experience within the rail plant industry, including knowledge of machines and attachments.
  • Experience leading teams and managing operational delivery.
  • Strong understanding of plant site methodologies, HSQE legislation and Sentinel rules.
  • PTS certification and a full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Teams.
