We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our Story Scotland Transportation Division looking after our sites across the country.

Responsibilities
As a Site Manager at Story Contracting you will
- Proactively manage the operations on site
- Build and maintain effective client relationships
- Build and maintain high performing teams that will involve direct Story employees as well as contractors
- Carry out site inspections, accurately recording details and following through with any actions

- Ideal Candidate
- Experience of working in the rail industry, particularly infrastructure projects. Though preferable, this is not essential.
- Manage work fronts in local communities and ensure a positive approach to dealing with members of the public.
- Accountable for the management and site supervision of site teams on rail infrastructure projects throughout Scotland
- Ensure sites are compliant with company SHEQ policy and procedure and drive a strong Health & Safety and quality focus culture, utilizing our electronic record keeping systems.
- Undertaking weekly site safety audits and producing a daily diary of site activities
- A sound understanding of the project commercial position and programme targets are achieved, highlighting any shortfalls to the Project Manager
- Ensure that materials have been procured, delivered and labour has been planned in accordance with construction programme.
- Close relationships with the wider site team, to identify cost savings and efficiencies.
- Accountable for a high standard of site H&S paperwork
- A focus on continued improvement in all SHEQ areas
- Ensuring all site returns are recorded and reported into the management team in a timely manner, as required.
- Manage subcontract packages of work and ensure sub-contractor construction programme are adhered to, identifying and reporting areas of concern/delay.

- Proven track record in successfully managing teams

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
