People Partner – Transportation Scotland

As part of continued growth, we now have a new opportunity for People Partner within Transportation Scotland, part of Story Contracting Ltd.
We are keen to invest in the right person, and are open to applicants for part-time and full-time hours.
Based from our Blantyre Office, and reporting to the Transportation Managing Director, you will work closely with all members of the senior management team (SMT) and interact with our people across all areas of the business.
The People Partner will give pragmatic HR advice, support the entire recruitment process, care about 'doing it right' and build strong working relationships whilst working at pace.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Work closely with the operational team and People team colleagues to provide people-related support to the division.
- Work closely with the Head of People to develop and support people initiatives that enable successful delivery of company and divisional goals.
- Proactively support managers with all areas of the colleague life cycle, providing support on case management and Employee Relations issues, e. g., performance management, absence management, discipline, and grievance.
- Ensure that managers have the skills necessary to confidently deal with people issues.
- Ensure that the divisional team uses the organisation’s people processes and systems effectively.
- Ensure that we promote the business and that recruitment and assessment processes are carried out to ensure that we continue to attract talent.
- Manage employee reward in accordance with company policies and liaising with the payroll team.
- Support the People Coordinator with the Exit Interview process, trend analysis and strategic recommendations for improvement.
- Promote employee wellbeing and work with our Occupational Health and HSQE team.
- Process employee data in accordance with GDPR.
- Proactively ensure that own knowledge of best HR practice and employment legislation is shared with colleagues.
- Lead on certain group HR processes and initiatives according to areas of expertise, including but not limited to initiatives regarding policy updates, early careers development and colleague well-being.
- Provide assistance to the People Team with the HR Team Inbox, providing support and guidance to our People Coordinators where required.
- Work closely with our Communications and Engagement team, supporting our Company’s STEM and social value commitments.
As the right candidate for this role, you will preferably be qualified to CIPD level 5.
You will have a high level of understanding on all current employment legislation and have experience of working within a fast paced environment, with changing priorities in an organisation with multiple internal stakeholders.
