Story Cellar is looking for an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading our restaurant and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role for an ambitious hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of the business in the General Manager’s absence.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help drive service standards, team development, operational excellence and commercial performance, while fostering a friendly, creative and inspiring restaurant culture. Inspired by the rotisseries and brasseries of Paris, Story Cellar combines charcoal cooking, classic dishes and a sophisticated wine programme with creative flair and counter-style dining.

Assistant General Manager Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager or senior hospitality leader in a quality restaurant environment
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and maintain exceptional standards across all areas of the business
  • Experience supporting the commercial performance of a restaurant, including labour, cost control and revenue targets
  • Confidence in taking full responsibility for the operation in the absence of the General Manager
  • Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills
  • Excellent knowledge of food, beverage and wine, with a genuine passion for hospitality
  • Calm and decisive under pressure, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Warm, friendly and humble personality
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • The desire to develop your career within an ambitious and growing restaurant group
