The RoleYou\âll be a core technical contributor across the full project lifecycle, leading the electrical design and delivery of commercial and utilityâscale battery energy storage and EV charging projects.
Working closely with software, mechanical, civil, and project teams, you\âll ensure StorTera\âs systems are safe, compliant, efficient, and gridâready â from initial design through to commissioning and operational support.
This is a handsâon role with real ownership, visibility, and technical depth.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for commercial BESS and ultraârapid EV charging projects, including singleâline diagrams, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications (inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, batteries).
Perform power system studies, including shortâcircuit, load flow, and protection coordination analysis.
Ensure compliance with relevant national and international electrical codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, UL, etc.).
Collaborate crossâfunctionally with project managers, mechanical and civil engineers, software developers, and commercial teams.
Develop technical specifications and bid packages for electrical equipment and services.
Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations, providing expert guidance and troubleshooting.
Conduct site assessments and resolve projectâspecific electrical challenges.
Engage with clients, presenting technical solutions and responding to complex requirements.
Continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
What We\âre Looking For
Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar accredited discipline.
Experience delivering commercial or utilityâscale energy storage, solar PV, EV charging, or power generation projects.
Strong knowledge of power electronics, battery technologies (Liâion preferred), and grid interconnection requirements.
Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, PSS/E, or PSCAD.
Handsâon experience with key standards including IEEE 1547 and UL 9540.
Excellent problemâsolving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to engineering quality.
Confident communicator who works well with both technical and nonâtechnical stakeholders.
