Lead Data Engineer

We are recruiting an experienced Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of the development of a business-wide Single Customer View (SCV) and help shape the organisation's wider data architecture.
/n
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems and wants to see their work directly influence customer experience, marketing, commercial strategy and business decision-making.
/n
/n
You will bring together customer and audience data from multiple platforms to create a single, trusted and actionable view of customers and prospects.
/n
Key responsibilities will include:
/n
/n
- Designing and developing the organisation's Single Customer View / Customer 360
/n
- Building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and automated data processes
/n
- Integrating data from CRM, websites, marketing platforms, events and other business systems
/n
- Developing data models and supporting the wider data architecture
/n
- Improving data quality, normalisation, matching and deduplication
/n
- Establishing identity resolution across multiple customer data sources
/n
- Supporting customer segmentation, reporting and personalisation
/n
- Developing data governance, stewardship and documentation standards
/n
- Supporting dashboards, BI tools and self-service reporting
/n
- Ensuring the data platform can support future AI and machine-learning initiatives
/n
/n
/n
You will have strong experience across several of the following:
/n

- Data Engineering
/n
- SQL and database technologies
/n
- ETL / ELT development
/n
- Cloud-based data platforms
/n
- Data warehousing / lakehouse architecture
/n
- APIs and third-party integrations
/n
- Data modelling and normalisation
/n
- Data quality and validation
/n
- Customer identity resolution and deduplication
/n
- Data governance
/n
- BI and visualisation tools
/n
- CRM and marketing data
/n
/n
Experience developing a Single Customer View, Customer 360 or Customer Data Platform would be particularly valuable.
/n
/n
You'll be technically strong but also commercially minded, with the ability to understand why the business needs the data rather than simply how to build it.
/n
You'll be comfortable working with fragmented datasets, challenging existing processes and working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organisation.
/n
