This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious business where finance plays a central role in operational and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence process improvements, support business growth, and work closely with senior leadership across the organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong team focus, offering broad exposure across financial control, operational finance, reporting, cash flow management, and business partnering.

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you'll ideally have experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, engineering or similar environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial performance, strengthening controls, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly management accounts preparation, reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger, and banking activities
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and support working capital optimisation
  • Oversee payroll, pensions, and employee benefits processes
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, VAT regulations, and internal controls
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis
  • Support procurement and stock-related financial processes
  • Drive process improvement across finance systems, controls, and reporting
  • Prepare information for audit and ensure accurate financial record keeping
  • Attend operational meetings and provide financial support to senior stakeholders
  • Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team.

The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to operate effectively within a growing operational business.
