About the Role
We are working with a small but growing accountancy practice near Hitchin that is looking to hire an Outsourced Finance Manager / Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day finances for a group of creative and music-focused businesses. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on variety and working closely with exciting clients in the creative sector. If you have a passion for music and festivals, that's a big plus. The role could work well for someone studying or qualified AAT or studying towards ACCA. You could also be qualified by experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the day-to-day bookkeeping for a group of businesses
- Handling accounts payable and receivable
- Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Ticket account reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Payroll processing
- Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
- Liaising directly with clients and stakeholders
- Supporting year-end preparation and working closely with Fractional FD
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
About You
- Good academics, potentially studying AAT or ACCA/QBE
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping/accounts assistant or finance manager role
- Strong understanding of day-to-day accounting processes
- Comfortable managing multiple entities or clients
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero or similar)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a proactive approach
Working Pattern & Location
Based near Hitchin - 3 days in office (rural, must be a driver). Hybrid working available. Approx. 2 days per month in clients' London office.
