About the role
Working primarily within the engineering organisation, across all delivery and engineering teams, this role is to take on ownership and responsibility for planning and delivery of product features and customer enhancements. This can be across any of our products and will involve new features and enhancements to existing features ensuring a coordinated managed approach to consider the business need, technical requirements, required team inputs, planning and delivery. It will involve aspects across: programme management, project management, product management. This is a wide ranging role to incorporate an understanding of our products, features, interactions, utilisation, configurations, customer deployments, services, architecture and roadmap determinations. It will involve planning for roadmap and possibly other customer or engineering delivery areas, including scoping functionality, determining team and capability requirements, creating plans and milestones, communication of these, tracking and planning throughout, and reporting of status, risks and mitigations. We want accountability across all delivery teams for committing to work to timeframes and being responsible for their outputs. You will act as stakeholder to development teams with respect to delivery performance (velocity, quality, scope), prioritisations, feature clarifications, and providing context about Solutions/Customers/Deliveries. This will mean engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders within the context of the StormHarvester product.
Job requirements
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Degree level education in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in software, product or engineering delivery role
- Experience in engaging with internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Project or Product Management experience
- Experience of Agile Scrum, Lean or Kanban using JIRA, or similar agile tracking tools
- Organised, working with others, clarity in communication
- Primarily a solutions focused outlook
- Can do, problem solving mindset
- Curious
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Direct experience of AWS services and utilisation
- Relevant delivery qualifications
- Experience across multiple delivery methodologies
- Experience in helping define and refine delivery processes across software teams
- Experience in management of multiple deliveries in parallel
- Worked with local and remote personnel across multiple teams
- Worked across different software delivery organisations (Matrix and functional teams)
- Experience in capturing, recording and reporting on delivery metrics
Job responsibilities
- Work with the Head of Delivery, Engineering Managers, Customer Account Managers, Product Owners, Technical leads and engineering teams across the organisation
- Appreciate delivery capabilities and capacities including organisations and structures
- Understand the capabilities and services of the StormHarvester Waste Water Smart product and other products across multiple customers
- Learn about and appreciate the Waste Water Domain and use of our product
- Work with customers, engineering and business teams to help determine prioritisation for planning and execution of delivery
- Understand the deployment, sites and sensors under management across our customers
- Determine options for delivery across feature need and available resource
- ‘Own’ responsibility for delivery plans (create, adapt, articulate, prioritise, communicate)
- Work with engineering management, team leads and engineers in project and product delivery
- Engage with product development teams to determine status of feature deliverables in terms of scope, quality and availability
- Ensure adequate and timely communication throughout
- Contribute to and help determine estimations for timeframes and costs; ‘Own’ high level plans for feature/customer delivery and monitor/report on progress
- Support all aspects for engineering in delivery of services (R&D, Front-end, Back-end, Support, Operations) to include planning for delivery such as early ideation through to technical architected plans
- Help in making delivery more efficient and seek to optimise our approach through a continuous improvement process
