The role and what you'll be getting up to on a day-to-day basis:
As a Senior Data Consultant, you'll work closely with customers to understand their business challenges and design innovative data solutions that deliver measurable value. Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll guide organisations on their data transformation journey while leveraging the latest Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Fabric.
You Will:
- Partnering with clients to understand business requirements, data challenges, and strategic objectives.
- Advising customers on data strategy, architecture, governance, and modern data platform adoption.
- Conducting data maturity assessments and developing transformation roadmaps.
- Facilitating workshops and stakeholder sessions to align business goals with technical solutions.
- Leading the design, development, and implementation of scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Fabric, keeping up to date with the latest features and capabilities.
- Supporting pre-sales activities, including discovery workshops, technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concept development.
- Contributing to proposals, RFP responses, and customer presentations.
- Building strong, trusted relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to consultants and developers across the practice.
What we're looking for:
We're looking for an experienced consultant who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience delivering modern data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Dataflows, Notebooks, and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT methodologies.
- Experience engaging directly with customers in a consultancy or client-facing environment.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and collaborative approach with a passion for solving complex business problems through data.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience with Azure Data Services, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
- Knowledge of SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, DAX, or MDX.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
- Exposure to Databricks, PySpark, or advanced analytics technologies.
- Microsoft Data and AI certifications, particularly Microsoft Fabric certifications.
