Storm Search is conducting a DIRECT HIRE search for a CNC Maintenance Technician! CNC Maintenance Technician

Location: Sussex, WI
Schedule: 1st shift (5am-3pm) Monday-Friday
Compensation: $32.00–$45.00/hour, based on experience
Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machining equipment, production machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, CNC maintenance experience, and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC mills, lathes, HMCs, VMCs, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and coolant system issues.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, alarms, and production interruptions.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspect equipment for potential failures.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged components.
  • Maintain coolant systems, chip conveyors, lubrication systems, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related equipment.
  • Assist with machine installation, leveling, alignment, and relocation as needed.
  • Maintain facility systems including lighting, doors, plumbing, HVAC, ventilation, air compressors, and general building components.
  • Coordinate with machine manufacturers, contractors, and outside service technicians when specialized repairs are required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records and track recurring equipment issues.
  • Maintain critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Work closely with Production and Quality to minimize downtime and support manufacturing operations.
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1+ years Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience with direct experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC machinery
  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and work in confined areas.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, oils, coolants, and industrial environments.
  • Ability to safely lift approximately 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work from ladders or lifts when properly trained.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
