We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join a well-established UK-based chemical manufacturing and distribution business. This is a full-time, permanent position offering stable employment, a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a modern, well-maintained fleet.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and professional transportation of chemical products to customers and sites across the UK. The base salary is based on a 40-hour working week, with regular overtime available. Current drivers are earning around £60,000 per year, including overtime, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver looking to maximise their earning potential.

You will need to hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and digital tachograph card. ADR experience or certification is desirable, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely transporting chemical products to customers and designated sites
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition
  • Complying with all relevant driving, transport and safety regulations
  • Completing all required delivery documentation accurately
  • Ensuring goods are handled and transported safely throughout each journey
  • Working professionally with customers and site personnel
  • Following company procedures relating to the transportation of hazardous goods
  • Completing up to 4 nights out per week as required
  • Undertaking regular overtime as required
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with drivers' hours and tachograph legislation

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV driving licence
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous HGV driving experience
  • ADR qualification desirable, but full training can be provided
  • Tanker or vacuum tanker experience desirable
  • Experience with curtainside, GP, tank or vacuum tanker vehicles desirable
  • Good knowledge of UK roads and transport regulations
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Reliable, professional and punctual
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Flexible and comfortable with regular nights out and overtime
