Our fantastic client based in Swindon, Wiltshire, is on the lookout for a talented and experienced Head of Health and Safety to lead their safety initiatives! This is a permanent role offering between £40,000 - £45,000, perfect for someone with management experience who’s ready to make a real difference. As a key leader within the organisation, you’ll be responsible for safeguarding the wellbeing of all employees while implementing the company’s health, safety, and environmental policies. You’ll work closely with senior management to maintain high standards, develop training programmes, and foster a culture of safety that everyone can get behind. Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and update health and safety policies in line with local and national regulations
- Engage with multiple sites to embed safety procedures and policies effectively
- Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, and other safety briefings
- Organise and deliver training sessions (First Aid, Fire Warden, Manual Handling) to ensure team safety and welfare
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents; develop measures to prevent recurrence
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain a safe working environment
- Develop and test emergency plans and procedures
- Support HR and managers with occupational health issues
- Review risk assessments and implement mitigation measures
- Work closely with the managing director to ensure safety strategies are rolled out effectively
- Bring innovative safety solutions whilst maintaining exceptional standards
- Ensure compliance with GMP regulations and health & safety legislation
- Proven management experience within health and safety roles
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to develop and deliver training programmes
- Proactive approach with problem-solving skills
- Team player with a positive attitude and attention to detail
