Operations Coordinator

Storm Procurement are looking for an Operations Coordinator to join one of the leading Procurement and Logistics companies in the Mining and Energy industries in our Watford-based Operations team.

This predominantly supplier-facing role is central to ensuring customer orders are checked accurately, raised with suppliers, expedited effectively, and updated across internal systems.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Accounts, Warehouse, customer-facing Operations colleagues, suppliers, and service providers to maintain order accuracy, resolve issues, and support a high standard of customer service.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Watford, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm.

Your Main Duties will Include

  • Checking supplier quotations and customer orders against the internal systems for inaccuracies, discrepancies, or other issues that may not have been considered.
  • Raising subsequent orders to suppliers to fulfil customer orders.
  • Ensuring suppliers have processed Storm purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Expediting your orders to reduce lead times where possible and keep delays to a minimum, ensuring that our customers can be provided with accurate, up-to-date information when requested.
  • Obtaining documentation through our suppliers and 3 rd party service providers.
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies reported by the client, supplier, or our own internal warehouse.
  • Raising invoice payment requests and approvals with management and accounts teams.
  • Coordinate with 3 rd party service providers and freight forwarders to fulfil the requirements of the order (e. g. logistics, packaging, certification)
  • Liaise with internal Accounts, Sales, and Warehouse teams to progress orders in a timely manner and resolve any issues, taking ownership of the orders you’ve raised.
  • Escalating ongoing issues to senior management quickly to source solutions as soon as possible to minimise internal delays.
  • Developing and improving relationships with both suppliers and service providers
  • Maintaining accuracy and oversight of internal reports and internal order management systems for overall company performance monitoring.

  • Strong attention to detail – High level of attention to detail is essential. The smallest difference being overlooked can have a large impact further down the chain.
  • Customer Service mindset – Committed to delivering a high standard of service, with a strong sense of empathy for both customers and suppliers.
  • Investigative mindset - There will be times that you will have to investigate evidence, produce timeline of events, and investigate discrepancies and non-conformities against previous confirmations.
  • Ability to manage one’s own workload and organise own tasks.
  • Identify high priority tasks vs lower priority and action accordingly.
  • Adaptable to new scenarios and situations.
  • Exemplary English, both written and verbal.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active worker. Desire to learn and develop personally.
