The role
We’re looking for an IT Operations Manager to join our team in historic Leith. You’ll be responsible for keeping Storm ID’s people productive by managing IT systems and infrastructure, maintaining security and compliance, and enabling teams to work effectively with apps and tools. This is a hands-on role that combines technical work with governance, process improvement, and business partnership. You’ll own our Microsoft 365 environment, lead our security and compliance efforts, and help shape how we use apps and tools across the business. You’ll work closely with our Operations Director to ensure our internal systems are secure, efficient, and fit for purpose. You’ll also partner with our Head of Compliance to maintain our ISO certifications and deliver Cyber Essentials Plus annually. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of IT operations in a growing consultancy, with the freedom to shape how we work and the tools we use.
About you
We need someone who can own IT operations end-to-end, from helpdesk to security compliance. You’ll be comfortable working across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and networking infrastructure.
- Strong experience administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune
- Experience with identity management, Conditional Access policies, and device lifecycle management
- Understanding of information security frameworks and experience implementing controls for ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across endpoints, cloud services, and networking
- Experience managing IT service delivery, including triaging and prioritising support requests
- Ability to write PowerShell or Python scripts to automate repetitive tasks
- Experience with Power Platform for building workflow automations
- Clear, accurate technical documentation skills
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience administering AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini
- Familiarity with UniFi network infrastructure
- Experience responding to client security questionnaires and audits
- Experience supporting ISO audits and preparing evidence
We know that many professionals come from a variety of backgrounds, and we encourage people who bring unique perspectives and knowledge to our team. If you don’t meet every requirement but think you’d be a great fit, we’d still love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Administer our Microsoft 365 tenant, including user lifecycle, licensing, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune
- Maintain and enforce Conditional Access policies and manage device configurations across Windows and macOS
- Implement and maintain technical controls to support ISO 27001 certification and deliver Cyber Essentials Plus annually
- Contribute to the Security Advisory Board, reporting on our security footprint and assessing new software and services
- Prepare audit evidence and support the Head of Compliance during internal and external audits
- Own the IT helpdesk queue, triaging and resolving issues, and identifying recurring problems to fix at root cause
- Manage our UniFi network infrastructure, including switches, access points, and VLANs
- Identify repetitive tasks that can be automated and build solutions using Power Platform and similar tools
- Administer enterprise AI tools including Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini
- Develop acceptable use policies for AI tools and support others to use AI effectively
- Create and maintain IT documentation and user guides
