We work with a range of clients across the Scottish and UK public and private sectors. We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to take a leading role within our Project Management Office. This is a hands-on delivery role, with real influence, delivering complex digital projects and shaping how delivery happens at Storm ID.
You will lead multiple concurrent projects from discovery through to delivery, working closely with clients, delivery teams and senior stakeholders. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of scope, budget, governance and delivery momentum, while building long-term client relationships and mentoring junior colleagues. About you

- Strong experience delivering multiple digital projects concurrently, across varying levels of complexity
- Confidence leading multidisciplinary teams, including designers, engineers, researchers and client stakeholders
- A solid understanding of delivery approaches (waterfall, agile and hybrid) and when to apply them
- Proven experience managing budgets, forecasts and change control
- The ability to build credibility and trust with clients at all levels, including handling challenge constructively
- Excellent communication skills that are clear, calm and confident, even under pressure
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with strong risk and issue management skills
- Experience mentoring or supporting other Project Managers

What you'll do
As a Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Head of PMO, you’ll be instrumental in leading the end-to-end delivery of complex digital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard. Here are some examples to give you a flavour of what you’ll do:
- Own project initiation, defining delivery approaches, governance models, plans, milestones and success metrics
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, define project requirements, and provide regular updates on project progress, ensuring transparency and alignment
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring clear, confident communication throughout delivery
- Manage project budgets, forecasts and change control, maintaining commercial integrity and proactively escalating risks where required
- Drive delivery momentum by proactively identifying, managing and mitigating risks, dependencies and issues across multidisciplinary teams.
- Work closely with our Head of PMO and Production to plan and manage resources effectively
- Motivate and inspire multi-disciplinary project teams, providing guidance, support and direction to ensure successful project delivery
- Oversee and maintain project backlogs and delivery tracking using tools such as Azure DevOps
- Actively participate in retrospectives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance project delivery processes.
- Mentor and support more junior Project Managers, contributing to capability development within PMO
Storm ID offers a flexible hybrid working environment, however in this role we welcome candidates who are local to our office in Edinburgh and can commit to spending a few days a week with us.
