Responsibilities
- Execute inspections of pressure equipment in accordance with the Written Scheme of Examination (WSE) and the Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR 2000)
- Execute inspections of atmospheric storage tanks in accordance with EEMUA 159 / API 653 guidelines
- Prepare inspection work scopes to satisfy the WSE requirements
- Assess degradation, raise appropriate defects and report significant concerns for further assessment
- Prepare and submit high quality inspection reports, accurately describing equipment condition
- Recommend changes to WSE requirements or inspection intervals as required during the examination process
- Execute and/or liaise with conventional and advanced NDT teams to support examinations
- Participate in the Risk Based Assessment programme for pressure equipment and storage tanks
- Mentor junior inspection engineers, maintaining high levels of safety and quality
- Support the development and implementation of company policy and procedures
- Maintain Altrad Integrity Services professional and safety standards
Qualifications
- Ordinary National Certificate / Engineering Technician (Essential)
- Higher National Certificate / Incorporated Engineer (Desirable)
- API 510 / 570 certification (Desirable)
- ASME L1 / L2 (Desirable)
- EEMUA 159 / API 653 certification (Desirable)
- NDT certification (PCN L2) UT / PT / MPI / ECT (Desirable)
- MFL floor scanning experience (Desirable)
Experience & Skills
- At least 5 years experience carrying out in-service inspection of pressure equipment
- Experience conducting PSSR thorough internal and external inspection of pressure equipment (e.g. pressure vessels, protective devices, heat exchangers, process pipework)
- Experience conducting thorough internal and external inspections of atmospheric storage tanks
- Experience working to and amending WSE
- Experience writing and approving Inspection Reports
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry regulations, codes and standards (i.e. PSSR (2000), ASME VIII, API 510 / 570 and EEMUA 159)
- Knowledge and understanding of typical damage mechanisms and relevant inspection techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of NDT techniques and their applicability
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) principles
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with an ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
