Job Description The following document defines the role and responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager, who reports to the Factory Manager.
- The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance and maintaining hygiene standards in the factory
- The QA Manager audits standards and processes, investigates non-conformances so the root cause is thoroughly understood, and works with the wider production team to document, train & embed processes in order to maintain a clean, compliant & efficient factory
- The Quality Assurance Supervisor and the factory cleaners report to the Quality Assurance Manager
- The role is based on the factory floor, and is integral to the shift team which comprises production, engineering, quality & warehouse
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections and quality assurance checks on all products during, and after production and pack-off.
- Verify productions by a sample-based approach to testing.
- Proactively check systems, labels and packaging material prior to production.
- Ensure all co-packed and manufactured products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Investigate any non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor product shelf-life, labelling accuracy and packaging integrity.
- Review and quality check all production and finished goods paperwork on a daily basis, ensuring it is complete, compliant and accurate before sign-off.
- Maintain a clear audit trail and support traceability for all products.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant food safety, hygiene and quality standards (e.g. BRC, HACCP).
- Prepare for and participate in customer audits, internal audits and third-party inspections.
- Collaborate with other departments to continuously improve quality systems and processes.
Hygiene, Quality, Food Safety and Health & Safety
- Ensure that good levels of hygiene are maintained by all personnel and in all processing areas, as well as the warehouse and yard.
- Audit and maintain warehousing procedures and activities.
- Ensure good manufacturing procedures are employed, at all times.
- Ensure Clean as You Go is being applied, at all times.

Ensure the Storefast Solutions Operating Procedure is adhered to, at all times.

Champion food safety by ensuring food safety procedures are applied throughout the production process.
- Monitoring and maintaining the HACCP process, ensuring the CCPs are properly monitored and recorded. Train staff in food safety and HACCP to ensure they have sufficient knowledge and understanding.
- Be a member of the HACCP team.
- Oversee and ensure safe working procedures are adopted in all aspects of work on site in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.
- Ensure procedures, analysis and testing is carried out to a consistently high standard.
- Assist with producing and reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Monitor hygiene in the production areas, resolving any issues.
- Ensure no contaminated, incorrect or degraded ingredients are used. If this occurs, stop production immediately and report it to the Quality Manager.
- Ensure all ingredients are being handled and stored in a food safe manner and in accordance with Storefast Solutions\β policies and procedures.
- Ensure all equipment, machinery and tanks are cleaned properly and according to procedure; failure/shortages/errors are to be reported to the Engineering Manager and Technical Team.
- Carry out equipment checks as required.
- Follow the company procedures for Health and Safety at all times.
Working Hours will be 05:00-14:00
