In the beautiful Calthorpe Estate in Edgbaston, our nursery is a Hygge-accredited setting full of warmth and wonder. We are looking for passionate and ambitious Assistant Nursery Chef/Cook who will prepare nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared meals and be responsible for the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen. This nursery is part of Storal, a group of nurseries across England. It is our vision at Storal to be the nursery group that every family and educator wants to be part of. About the job:
- Provide balanced and nutritional meals for all children attending the nursery and catering for children with specific dietary needs.
- Instill Storal Values to Food and Hygiene and compliance with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety and within the guidelines of Ofsted.
- Ensure all children are kept safe and have rich stimulating experiences.
- Maintaining stock levels and ensuring stock rotation.
- To be aware of COSHH and follow relevant guidelines.
- To deputise for the Cook in all absences with the expectation of deputising full time when this is required.
About you:
- Level 2 Food and Hygiene.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH.
- Reflecting the Storal values around responsibility, openness and working together.

- Salary: From £10.47 up to £10.62 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
